Special Olympics Colorado to hold town hall meeting

Special Olympics Colorado invites you to participate in a town hall meeting to be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Durango Recreation Center, Sunlight Room/Eolus Room, 2700 Main Ave.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear from you with regard to how SOCO is performing and meeting the needs of athletes, families and caregivers, coaches, volunteers and supporters. We invite you to share your thoughts regarding proposed changes in the competition structure, including sports offerings and sports seasons. We also want to hear your ideas and get your feedback regarding ways we can work together to enhance programming for all of our athletes.

The SOCO board and staff believe it is critical to assess our delivery of services regularly to ensure we are meeting the needs of our athletes and are constantly providing a quality experience for all stakeholders. The town hall meetings is structured so we can hear your thoughts and ideas for our strategic planning.

The meeting will be facilitated by Dr. Pam Gunsten, retired former director of Organizational Development for Special Olympics, Inc.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions. If you have any questions in advance, call Mindy Watrous at (720) 359-3120.

Light refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring a brown bag lunch if you desire.

Please R.S.V.P. by Sept. 14 to Tiffany at tc@specialolympicsco.org or by calling (800) 777-5767.
