The Archuleta County Republican women will hold their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Aug. 11, at noon at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant.
This month’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Bill Pledsted, from Durango. His topic will be “Where current health care legislation is taking us and how it will affect you and your family.”
Pledsted is a CU Boulder graduate with medical training in Kansas and UCLA. In Santa Monica he specialized in thoracic and cardiovascular practice and he started several heart surgery programs in California. He is also past president of the Los Angeles and California medical associations and in 2006, became president of the American Medical Association.
His heart has long been here in Colorado and especially in the Durango area. He and his family have had a home here for nearly 30 years and have enjoyed a wonderful retreat for hunting, fishing, and to enjoy a set of values difficult to enjoy in Los Angeles.
All are invited to listen to Pledsted deliver his views on health care. No reservation required.
