Experience the full moon at Chimney Rock’s Great House Pueblo site on July 7.
The program includes Native American flute melodies and storytelling by Charles Martinez.
Tickets are $15 for this two-hour program designed for folks 12 years and older. Call 883-5359 for reservations (required) and ask about our “early tour” of the lower area (Great Kiva Trail Loop), for $5.
The gates will be open from 7 to 7:30 p.m.
The program begins at 8 p.m., and the moon will rise at approximately 9. Cancel date is July 5.

Greg Wood will offer a pottery workshop at Chimney Rock Archaeological Area, July 31-Aug. 2.
In this workshop, you will create Pueblo III Mesa Verde black-on-white pottery using prehistoric methods. With organic paints, participants will hand-form, burnish, decorate and trench-kiln fire their own handmade pottery. Two graduate credits are available for this class.
Fee is $150 for the three-day workshop and includes all materials, firing and an archaeological site tour.
Deadline for registration is July 17. Class size is limited to provide each participant individualized instruction.
