The Jackson Mountain Road (Forest Road No. 037) will be closed at its intersection with U.S. 160 to motorized vehicles for two weeks to allow the Forest Service to repair damages from a landslide affecting 1.2 miles of the road.
The closure will be in place between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, beginning Monday, June 22. ?
During this time, the road will remain open to non-motorized travel, including hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders.
On weekends, the road will be reopened to motorized travel.
The road is expected to be fully reopened by July 3. ?
