Boosters open anniversary season with ‘Meshuggah-Nuns!’

The Pagosa Springs Music Boosters kicks off its 2009 20th anniversary celebration with this summer’s production of  David Goggin’s “Meshuggah-Nuns! “

This is the fifth in a series of “Nunsense” musicals Goggin has written, which have been performed successfully and hilariously all over the country.

It was 10 years ago, in 1999, that Music Boosters presented its first nun show, “Nunsense!”

To celebrate those crazy and wonderful Pagosa nuns, we  return to their world, this time on a cruise ship, the “Faiths of All Nations Cruise.”

Reprising their roles are:  Mary McKeehan as Sister Mary Regina, Reverend Mother; Kathleen Isberg as Sister Mary Hubert; and Lisa Hartley as Sister Mary Paul (aka “Amnesia”).

New to the “Nunsense” world, but not new to the stage, is Crissy Ferguson as Sister Robert Anne.

The one male actor, playing “Howard Liszt,” is our own Mark DeVoti, returning to the Music Boosters stage once again!

Rounding out the cast are veteran performers Becca Stephens and Hannah Hemenger.

Performances are June 26, 27 and 28, and July 1, 2 and 3.  All shows are at 7 p.m., except for a matinee only on June 28, and all are at the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium.

Tickets are available now at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door performance evenings after 6 p.m.

In an effort to bring as many folks as possible to the show, Music Boosters has reduced our children’s prices to $5, and kept our previous admissions the same.  See www.pagosamusicboosters.org.
