On the weekend of April 16 and 17, Hospice of Mercy held its annual 20-hour training requirement for Hospice volunteers. I would like to thank the 18 community members from Archuleta and La Plata counties that attended. The commitment is quite large and for many can be very exhausting. Hospice cannot be without the volunteers, so our gratitude goes out to all of those folks who spent their time with us. Special thanks to Bread for the generous donation of baked goods for the participants to enjoy, and to Mercy Regional Medical Center for the space to hold the training in.
I want to thank all of the people of Pagosa whom helped my family through the difficult time of my Mom, Patty, passing away. I cannot begin to express how much the generosity has meant to me — all of the kind words, the organizing of the service and the donations. Without this, I don’t know how we would have gotten through such a difficult time. This has just been another reminder of why my Mom loved it here so much.
