There is still time for bowling teams to register to participate in Pagosa Springs’ 2009 Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
The celebration takes place Saturday at the Power House Youth Center in downtown Pagosa Springs.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado’s only annual fund-raising campaign for the Pagosa Springs program. The campaign culminates in a community-wide bowling event — a party held to thank the members of the community for coming through for the kids. While the event will take place in a unique “bowling alley” created for just one day, it’s not really about bowling, it’s about taking part in a fun activity to help local kids in need.
There will be live music — featuring John Graves, Carl Mori, Brooks Lindner, Danny Appenzeller, Pam Novak, Bill Hudson and Jack Ellis — and a silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will be divided between the Southwest Colorado ASA Girls Softball Association, the new Youth Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters. So, even if you are not able to bowl, stop by and support these great organizations by bidding on the silent auction.
If you are unable to form a team, but would like to support BBBS, you can easily make a secure online donation at the Pagosa.Kintera.org site or you can mail a check to P.O. Box 2488, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
