The County Tourism Commission (CTC) will meet Monday, May 4, for its quarterly meeting and to review special event funding requests. The meeting will be held in the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center board room at 1 p.m.
Special event funding requests can be submitted by groups providing events to the community, with an emphasis on those events that bring people to Pagosa Springs to stay overnight.
These events are funded by county lodging tax dollars — revenues collected from lodging properties located in the county, outside the town of Pagosa Springs. As a result, emphasis is placed on events that draw visitors to that area, producing revenues that help replenish the lodging tax coffers.
Special event funding requests should be submitted to Mary Jo Coulehan at the Chamber of Commerce, preferably electronically, by Monday, April 27, at firstname.lastname@example.org. If the request cannot be submitted electronically, it can be delivered to the Chamber offices on Hot Springs Boulevard. Questions concerning this funding can be directed to Coulehan, at 264-2360.
