When was the last time you ate family style with 300 family and friends?
Have you ever seen tables loaded with platters of chicken and literally “buckets” of salad?
You will when Seeds of Learning hosts “One Big Family” dinner and silent auction on Saturday, April 18, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.
This event will celebrate the spirit of our community working together like a family to benefit all, with everyone sharing a meal and enjoying conversation with other table guests.
The evening will include a silent auction of themed table settings donated by several creative, local ladies. The family theme threads through these entertaining tables, which range from “Family Movie Night” to the Fourth of July! In addition to the clever table settings for eight, there will be other fun items in the silent auction, including a portrait sitting from the talented Jeff Laydon of Pagosa Photography.
Mary McKeehan will serve as MC for the evening and there can be little advanced description of the improvisation that could occur. However, it will no doubt include members of the audience.
The students from Seeds will present some “very little entertainment” as their personal thank you for all the community support they receive. At Seeds, children who otherwise would not have the opportunity for early education, receive quality, individualized care and instruction. They are taught the skills that will help them lead the next generation of adults that will support the community of Pagosa.
Don’t miss this party that everyone looks forward to every year.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and tickets for the event are $35 and are still available at the Chamber of Commerce, Switchback Mountain Wear and Seeds of Learning. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door, so please get your tickets in advance to be sure of attending.
See you at the family gathering!
