LASSO — Large Animal Southwest Support Organization — will host Pagosa Springs resident, author and veterinarian Patty Latham at the annual fund-raising dinner on Saturday, March 21.
Latham will sign her book, “Napa Valley Vets: The Balance of Lives,” at the event. Latham’s book is available at Sisson Library, but can be purchased the night of the event. Latham and her husband, Jim, operate Mill Creek Veterinary Services which is an equine-only general practice here in Pagosa Springs.
LASSO’s Hearts for Horses is the organization’s annual fund-raising dinner, held at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse. Degelman’s Classic Catering will serve oven-baked chicken breast with white wine and oven-baked salmon filet with orange glaze, with wonderful sides, salads and homemade cobbler.
Along with the silent auction (which will include Patty Latham’s books), and music by Chama’s Country Heat, Chris Crump, animal control officer, and Patty Latham will give the attendees an update on local and national equine matters.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30 with the help of Junior Rotarians who are using this fund-raising event as a community service project.
Tickets are $50 each or $90 per couple and can be purchased by calling DiAnn Hitchcox at 264-0095, or Dave Richardson at 264-6427.
