Let’s Dance Club will host a rumba workshop with instructor Darla Hill Sunday, March 1.
With assistance from her husband, Jim, Darla will teach how to lead and follow for eight to 12 basic to intermediate steps. The rumba workshop will be from noon to 3 p.m.
The rumba has been described as the spirit and soul of Latin American music and dance. Songs with rumba rhythms are found in several genre and including, “Woman in Love,” by Streisand, “Could I Have this Kiss Forever,” by Whitney Houston, “South of the Border,” by Willie Nelson, “Feels so Right,” by Alabama, and “Lady in Red,” by Chris de Burgh.
The work shop will be held at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA) Clubhouse at 230 Port Ave. Dancers without partners are welcome. Shoes that have smooth or leather soles make it easier to dance. The charge for the workshop is $20 per person.
Our free Tuesday evening dance lessons continue with great participation. The Tuesday, March 24, class has been moved to Wednesday, March 25.
