It is that time of year when we remind you about how important it is to help to do your part in the fight against cancer.
Won’t you consider being a team captain for Relay for Life?
All you need to do is come to The Team Captain University Saturday, Feb. 28, at the community center. If you do, you will learn the how, the why’s and the what’s of being a team captain.
Without you, there would be no Relay. We will be celebrating 25 Years of Hope this Relay season; with our theme, we will be going back to the past to celebrate the 1980s — big hair, shoulder pads, mullets and crazy fun things.
Team Captain University will be held at the community center from 9 a.m. to noon. This will be a fun and informative time for all team captains, and it will be different than any you have attended before. If you are an experienced team captain, or if this is your first year, we encourage you to attend. If you or a representative from your team are at the meeting, we will be signing the Team Benchmarks (we will explain at TCU) and you will also receive a gift certificate worth $25 at the Relay Store. We will be giving out the Team Captain Kits, which are different from the ones you received in the past. We will have a question and answer session; we want this TCU to be something that really helps you as a team captain and we want you to leave with answers to your questions, equipped with fun ideas and ready and excited to Relay.
We know that this will be a tough year with our economy in a slump, but we can succeed if we all work together!
We are looking forward to an exciting and fun Relay season!
