Latin Dance series with Phyllis Dodson

Elation Center for the Arts invites all latin dance lovers to a new class taught by Phyllis Dodson.

After having so much fun with dancers of all levels at her debut workshop, Phyllis is eager to continue the dance magic on Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Feb. 26, March 5 and March 19 at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse.

Her warm and friendly teaching style is complemented by years of professional experience as a teacher and performer.

Phyllis taught dance for 11 years in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and although her teaching included jazz, ballet, tap, line dancing and world dance, it is the latin that is her favorite style. Touring internationally with the band Brave Combo for ten years, Phyllis was often teaching the audiences basic latin dance moves during the band’s high energy live shows.

The sheer joy expressed in her dancing is something she wants to share with beginners and experienced dancers alike. Now is your chance to learn with an extraordinary dancer and teacher who wants to spread the joy of cha cha, easy salsa moves, meringue and simple waltz.

Dance class is $5 per person, held at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse on 230 Port Ave. For more information, call ECA at 731-3117. Wear casual, comfortable clothes and shoes.
