Need a job, or looking for a career change?
If so, don’t miss the Job Fair taking place 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 21, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.
There will be businesses that are actually offering employment or that will be in the near future.
Need to clean up your resumé, or don’t know how to begin to write one? You can find the answers at the Sisson Library booth.
The event is free.
There was a great turnout for Computer Fix it Free Day at the community center last Saturday. A huge thank you to Kurt Raymond for putting this event together and to all the local computer technicians for their time too.
We saw a lot of happy and grateful faces that day.

Preschooler’s playgroup. The community center supports Pagosa’s preschoolers by providing use of the gym Thursday mornings from 10 a.m to noon. Bring clean shoes with non-marking soles, as well as balls, ride-on toys and bikes with clean tires. A parent or guardian needs to stay — no drop-offs please. This is a great opportunity for both kids and their adults. Contact Gwen Taylor with questions or suggestions at 731-0305
Couples and line dancing. Monday, Jan. 19, only we will meet at the PLPOA Clubhouse — the community center will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular classes resume the following week, Jan 26 at the community center.
Couples meets at 9:15 a.m., line dancing is at 10:15 a.m. The new year promises some exciting new line dances, thanks to Peggy, Bev, Teri and Lorna who have the patience to learn them off the Internet and teach them to the rest of us. These ladies are truly the backbone of the program.
It is also great to welcome back faces we have not seen recently. This is an especially good time for newcomers or for those returning after time away. We are all rusty (body and mind) and trying to remember everything. There were some strange new moves Monday that produced a lot of laughter. Oh well, its good exercise.
The members of the couples group amazed themselves, as well as the teachers, in that we all remembered more than we expected. Newcomers are welcome to join us for lots of laughs and a little learning. No previous dance knowledge necessary and its free. Call Gerry at 731-9734 for more information.
Indoor Soccer. We will begin a full schedule Jan 17, 24 and 31 from 10 a.m to noon. Indoor Soccer will be held Saturdays through March or April (depending on weather). For more information, call Matt, 903-8663.
Yoga. Join our class in the gym every Tuesday, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Bring a mat or thick towel, that’s all it takes.
Alateen. Every Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m in the East Conference room. If you need someone to talk to or have questions, please attend. Hope Walker is the instructor. If you have questions, call 264-4152.
