Caroline N. Stump, 65, passed away Dec. 30, 2008, in Crook, Colo. She was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Bayfield, Colo., to George Clark Ford and Margaret Nadine Adams.
Caroline graduated from Pagosa Springs High School in 1961. She married Alvie Lee Stump in July 1966, in Golden, Colo.
She was a cook with the RE-1 Valley School District for 27 years. She then transferred to Caliche School as a cook for many years. She was the night janitor at Caliche for 17 years and cooked for the children at Iliff Head Start for numerous years. Caroline loved to cook; she even catered for several weddings and graduations, and for families and friends in the area making cakes for the occasion. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, going picnicking, picking wild berries by the river and rodeoing with the grandkids. She was a wonderful friend, wife, mother, grandmother and person. Caroline will watch over us from heaven, caring for all others before herself. We all hope to be as good of a loving person as Caroline.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Alvie Lee Stump, of Crook, Colo.; sons, Billy Stump and wife, Annaline, of Ignacio, Colo, and Bobby Stump and wife, Tracie, of Crook; sister, Catherine Cundiff and husband, Henry, of Bayfield, Colo.; grandchildren, Cole Stump, Quinten Stump, Blayne Stump and Riley Stump; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Church of Crook, with services concluding at the church, officiated by Henry Cundiff. Memorials may be made to the Caroline N. Stump Memorial Fund.
