Don’t forget Job Fair Plus, coming to the Pagosa Springs Community Center Jan 21.
The upcoming Job Fair is about connecting potential employees and employers, and about providing local workers with information and sources to assist them in procuring jobs or advancing in their lines of work. But, most important, our Job Fair is about hope — hope for the future.
The Job Fair grew into Job Fair Plus after I received phone calls that extended the venture beyond that of simply offering jobs.
Local banks, CPAs and other financial people stepped forward to offer help on such things as income tax preparation, just-before-too-late mortgage and foreclosure advice, and preparing and living within a budget.
The Ruby Sisson Library will make books on resumé writing and interview preparation available, as well as other books to help readers search for a better employment opportunity.
Archuleta School District 50 Jt. will have a representative available to inform those who might want to seek employment as a substitute teacher, a bus driver, in food service or as an aide.
These are just a few of the opportunities that will be available at the Job Fair Plus to be held 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.
