For the third year, the Community United Methodist Church will hold a “Blue Christmas Worship Service” at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, at the church on Lewis Street.
“Christmas is a time for joy, not sorrow,” said Pastor Don Ford. “For many people, the Christmas season brings about memories that do not go with a festive, joyous time of the year.
“People who have lost loved ones at this time of year or who have had bad experiences or have had Christmas impacted by divorce, separation or no children should attend,”
During the service, according to Ford, “There will be a meditation time for remembering, a time for seeking answers, a time for expressing hope and a time for bringing light to the darkness.”
