The Four Corners Commission is a Durango Arts Center tradition. The exhibit reflects the habitat, surroundings and heritage of the Four Corners Region.
The show this year will be juried from actual works by Veryl Goodnight.
Goodnight has sculpted and painted professionally since the early 1970s. She is a fellow of the National Sculpture society and other national art organizations. Her work is included in prestigious exhibits like the Masters at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. Veryl is a Colorado native who recently “came back home” after 18 years in Santa Fe, N.M., and has built a new home and studio in Mancos. She has also opened a gallery in Mancos called “Goodnight Trail Gallery of Western Art” on the corner of Main and Grand avenues.
From the works chosen, the juror will select three artists to receive cash prizes. Other cash and prizes from the community are also awarded, the evening of the opening reception, Friday, Jan. 9, at the DAC, 802 E. 2nd Avenue, Durango.
Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to participate.
