Celebration Choir to perform ‘Hope Has Hands’

The Celebration Choir of Pagosa will present the Christmas Cantata, “Hope Has Hands.”

This is the Christmas story as told by Simeon, who was told by the Holy Spirit that he would no see death before he had seen the Messiah, and by Anna who was a prophetess that served God in the temple. Upon seeing the Christ Child, Simeon said, “Lord, now You are letting your servant depart in peace. According to Your word, for my eyes have seen Your salvation which you have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.” (Luke 2:29-32.)

This message of hope includes the following songs in addition to several others: “The World Has Joy Medley,” “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” and “Mary Did You Know.” Come celebrate with the Celebration Choir the hope that was born on Christmas Day.

Again, as last year, the Celebration Choir is composed of singers from several area churches. The presentation of “Hope Has Hands” will be at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at Mountain Heights Baptist Church, 1044 Park Ave. Following the presentation, a reception for all will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
