Santa arrives on Dec. 6

The deadline for purchasing tickets for a morning of fun and excitement with Santa Claus is Dec. 1, at 5 p.m.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves will arrive at the Pagosa Springs Community Center Dec. 6 at 9 a.m.

After a festive holiday breakfast created by volunteer chefs Amy Dunmyer and Mary Jo Coulehan, Santa and his Elves will assist the children in the activity centers and during story time with Mrs. Claus. Santa’s mailbag will be filled with letters created by the children detailing their Christmas wish list.

This entertaining event will include holiday songs led by Blue and Brooks Lindner, and Rada Neal will provide her beautiful seasonal music. Members of the local Future Business Leaders Association will be on hand as Santa’s Elves and will share their Saturday morning assisting the children during the event.

Bring your camera to capture candid shots of your child’s delight during the morning activities. For a professional photo keepsake, Sagebrook Photography will be available to capture your child’s excitement.

Sponsored by United Way of Archuleta County, proceeds from the event stay in Archuleta County to assist 15 agencies engaged in one of United Way’s five impact areas. Each agency is creating connections that promote a sustained improvement in the quality of our community’s life. Impact areas are:

• Helping children and youth succeed.

• Fostering health and welfare.

• Developing self-sufficiency and independence.

• Supporting vulnerable and aging populations.

• Responding to those in crisis

Seating is limited and children must be accompanied by an adult during the event.

Tickets are $30 for one adult and one child. Additional children are $15 each and toddlers under the age of 2 are $5 each. Tickets are available from the United Way office, 264-1215, the Chamber of Commerce and Higher Grounds Coffee Shop.
