Anyone interested in playing weekend indoor soccer through the winter months is welcome to attend organizational meetings and practice sessions scheduled for Nov. 29 and Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon in the community center gymnasium.
This free “pick-up” style program for players age 5 and older will consist of informal scrimmages, practice and instruction. Non-marking athletic shoes are required; skating shoes are not recommended.
After the first of the year, sessions will be held Saturdays in the community center gym when space is available; the season is expected to run through late March or early April.
Indoor soccer balls and goals will be provided; outdoor balls will not be permitted. Shin guards are highly recommended for all participants.
For more information on this program, contact Matt Bowdridge at 903-8663, or call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 232.

• Artwork must be original and hand-drawn.
• Include student’s name, grade and phone number on the back of entry.
The theme for entries in the essay contest (grades 5-8) is also “Pick-up Pagosa Country.” Entries should explain why local litter prevention and/or recycling efforts are important and should follow these guidelines:
• All entries must be legibly handwritten on 8.5x11 paper.
• Entries are limited to a maximum of 250 words.
• Include student’s name, grade and phone number with entry.
