White Mesa basket makers will present demonstrations of their age-old basket weaving techniques and members of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe will offer authentic Native American arts and crafts at a holiday Indian Market 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum in Ignacio..
The Indian Market will provide holiday shoppers with an opportunity to purchase Native American baskets, jewelry, pottery, beadwork and other arts and crafts made by Southern Ute tribal members. These unique, hand-crafted items represent living treasures made by Colorado’s longest continuous residents.
The holiday Indian Market is part of the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum’s ongoing effort to retain and promote understanding of Southern Ute culture.
The museum is located on Colo. 172 in Ignacio, next to the former Sky Ute Casino and across from the Thriftway.
Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
