Monday is the deadline for skate park comments.
The Town of Pagosa Springs Recreation Department will accept public comments on the design for a new community skate park through Monday, Nov. 10.
Brad Siedlecki of Pillar Design Studios — the engineering firm hired by the town to design the new park — has created a final conceptual design for the new park, which entails approximately 8,500 square feet of skating terrain.
Siedlecki’s design, which is based entirely on comments given during two public meetings held this fall, has been posted on the Pagosa Skate Park Blog.
Those interested in commenting on the design can join the blog by going to www.pillardesignstudios.com and clicking on either “work” or “play.” Click on the “community involvement” link on the left side of the screen, and then click on “Click here to log into the Pillar Design Studios Blog.” When prompted for a log-in, use “pagosa,” and then enter “skatepark” as the password.
A link to the blog has also been posted on the recreation department link at www.townofpagosasprings.com.
The design process for the new park will likely be completed by the end of the year, and if next year’s budget allows, the town will then pursue a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado to aid construction.
