Cards of Thanks

PLPOA

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to PLPOA staff members Carol Griego, Jerry Heber, David Kenyon, Larry Lynch, Arthur Maez, Gloria Petsch, Joseph Rivas, Sirri Thompson, Barbara Tsonis, Waste Management of Four Corners — its district manager, Dennis Gallegos, and employees Marie Gillingham and Chris Chavez — and residents for their participation in a successful Project Cleanup. With supports, with a foundation, we can build a community.

Respectfully,

Margaret Gallegos

Maes

On behalf of our entire family we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to everybody who reached out to us during our time of loss. The cards, flowers, phone calls and words of encouragement were an overwhelming gesture of humanity and kindness.

We would like to extend an extra special thank you to the members of the Pagosa Bible Church, the staff at uptown City Market, Nancy Vigil, Tim and Lucy McAvoy and the Valdez family. Your generosity and compassion will never be forgotten.

 Toth

The Toth family would like to say thank you so much for everyone’s kindness following Nick’s accident.  It means the world to all of us.  Words can not describe our gratitude for the phone calls, visits, food, cards, and the extra help (in many ways).  We would also like to say a special thank you for the prayer quilt from the members of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.  Nick is doing great — minus a few digits. Please take the time to check out www.sawstop.com.  There are more than 60,000 injuries a year, and over 3,000 amputations a year from table saws.  That is one injury every nine minutes.

Thank you again; we are forever grateful.

Carrie, Nick, Nicky, Jackson and Harrison Toth

ACVAP

Another Domestic Violence Awareness Month passes with great success due to those who believe in our work and what we do for victims everyday.  Most importantly, we are truly grateful for the brave survivors of domestic violence for sharing their stories and emotions on their thoughtfully decorated T-shirts.  These T-shirts will always be especially touching as they were the first ones to start our inaugural Clothesline Project.   We would also like to sincerely thank the Community Center and the Sisson Library for displaying our inaugural shirts; the Town of Pagosa Springs for the purple Domestic Violence ribbons on their lamp posts; and the Pagosa Springs Sun for presenting our articles.  Together we can end domestic violence.

Sincerely,

Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program board, volunteers and staff.

Mind UR Head

Mind UR Head would like to thank the sponsors of our third annual Halloween party’s “Safe Ride Home” program. Sponsors donated money for radio airtime about the program and fuel used by our volunteers, as well as prizes to be given away. They are: Pagosa Liquor, The Critter Outfitter, The Costume Pitstop and The Outfitter on Putt Hill. Special thanks to Kathy Frey of PRECO for the cash prizes for best costumes. Thanks go to our “designated drivers” Tim McAvoy, Shane Lane and Joe Behr. We must also thank Jim Stone at the Buffalo Inn for having the show. Mattie, Robin, Carl and Amy worked so hard, you guys rock! Carl, thanks for the decorating help, too. Donations of bed sheets were supplied by Pagosa Lodge, First Inn, Pine Ridge and The Springs Resort. Thank you so much; the bus looked fantastic. We look forward to next year’s Halloween Bash; wait to see what the bus is going as next year.

Pritchard/Zelder

Dear Pagosa residents and all dear friends:

I must hold the record for the number of “cards of thanks” I’ve had in the paper in the last 14 months. So here goes. My most heartfelt gratitude for all of your love and prayers throughout this most difficult time for myself and my mother, Peggy. You have lifted me and aided me on my way to being a breast cancer survivor.

My job is becoming apparent — give hope and help others. Thank you for your continued kindness and support. I pray for all of you and your loved ones in these most difficult times.

With gratitude and joy,

Terri Pritchard and Peggy Zelder
