Pick up Festival of Trees applications at community center

The Festival of Trees will take place Dec. 1-5 at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.

We already have some great entries this year.

Music in the Mountains has two trees — table top and full size (that should give you some ideas) — and Friends of the Library, Archuleta County Ruritan Club, PS I Love Red Hats Chapter No. 3495, Hospice of Mercy, and the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. have turned in their applications.

Come join us. The applications can be picked up at the community center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Decorating will commence Dec. 1, with the tree auction and silent auction on Friday, Dec. 5.

Any entity or individual may sponsor a tree, but proceeds must be designated to go to an Archuleta County non-profit organization. We encourage all clubs, groups and individuals to sponsor a tree. Our goal this year is to have at least 25 trees entered.

If you have questions, call Janis Moomaw at 264-3010, Nancy Strait at 731-3427, or the community center at 264-4152.
