The Pagosa Wellness Festival, sponsored by The Pagosa Health and Wellness Network, an organization of healing arts practitioners, bridges the world of Western medicine with the Eastern methods of natural healing.
By understanding the strengths of each approach, we can make informed decisions about the healing modalities complementary to Western medicine to achieve the greatest results in health and wellness.
For instance, the once little-known areas of network chiropractic and Chinese medicine and acupuncture have become increasing recognized as “medical” treatment. Ancient healing methods, such as shamanism, are being successfully utilized in modern-day context.
The Pagosa Wellness Festival is taking place this weekend, Saturday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Archuleta County Extension Building. Free consultations and mini demonstrations will be available, highlighting the various healing modalities. Massage therapists will be on hand to release toxic stress that has accumulated in the body during the challenges of recent date. Vendors will make available visionary artwork, cards and prints, crystals, gemstones, beaded jewelry, aromatherapy oils, holiday gifts and other products for well-being. Admission is free.
Each day, free gift certificates will be offered by the practitioners for services and by vendors for products, and these will be given away in drawings that will take place at noon and at 3 p.m. each day. Tickets for participation in the daily drawings will be given free of charge when you enter. Child care will be provided.
