Ted Cope, born in Denver in 1912, died Oct. 23, 2008, at Pine Ridge Extended Care Center, in Pagosa Springs, where she had been thoughtfully and well cared for since 2001.
Ted and her husband, Roscoe, owned and operated a drug store/ pharmacy (with a real soda fountain!) in Antonito, Colo., beginning in 1937. They had the drug store until Roscoe passed away in 1969. Ted continued to work at the drug store until 1991, when she moved to Pagosa Springs.
Ted is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Shirley Cope, of Pagosa Springs. Also surviving are two grandsons and their families: Scott and Amy Cope, Madelyne, Rosalyne and Evelyne of Buena Vista, Colo.; and Mick and Dawn Cope, Morgan and Brooklyn, of Olympia, Wash.
A private family graveside service was held in the San Luis Valley.
