The Dolores Water Conservancy District, Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company, San Juan Citizens Alliance, Southwest Community Leadership Collaborative, and the Water Information Program will sponsor a “Water 101” Workshop 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Lewis Arriola Community Center (located seven miles North of Cortez, 1⁄2 mile west of Colo. 491 on County Road S).
The workshop qualifies for continuing education credits for Realtors and features a lineup of qualified speakers, including Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs.
The workshop is designed to provide a basic understanding of water and related issues in the area. Topics include Colorado water history, law, administration, regulation and development. Also included will be an interactive panel on local water management and use issues.
Seminar fee is $30 before Oct. 24, or $35 after that date or at the door (includes lunch, snack and information packet).
