Clark Riedberger, a standout on the Pagosa Springs Pirate golf team during his high school career, finished 12th in a field of 86 golfers at the Colorado Class 3A Golf Tournament held Monday and Tuesday at the Spring Valley Golf Course.
Riedberger was tied for third place after the first 18 holes of the tournament on Monday. He shot a 75 on Monday and an 86 on Tuesday.
The Pirate shot a 38 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine Monday, carding five birdies during the round. On Tuesday, Riedberger scored a 43 on both the front and back nines with two birdies.
“He worked real hard and I am real proud of him,” said Pirate Coach Mark Faber of Riedberger, who has led the way for the team throughout the season.
“Riedberger’s performance on Monday was phenomenal,” Faber said.
Riedberger has qualified for the state tournament three years in a row. He is a senior this season.
