Tickets are selling fast for the Springs Theatre Company’s production of “Clue, The Musical!” This dinner theatre offering will take the stage Oct. 23, 24 and 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse. Before the show, guests will be treated to a three course meal beginning with a baby field green salad and fresh rolls and butter. An entree of Tuscan chicken breast, penne pasta with sundried tomatoes in a cream sauce, and roasted Mediterranean vegetables will then be served buffet style. During intermission, indulge in a slice of creamy New York style cheesecake with a variety of toppings.
“Clue, The Musical!” is a delightful show based on the Parker Brothers board game of the same name and marks the first time a board game has ever been brought to life on the stage. CLUE was created in 1944 in England by Anthony Pratt, a solicitor’s clerk. His wife designed the board game which is still used today in over 73 countries worldwide. Due to post war shortages in England, the launch of the game was delayed until 1949 and is now the second most popular board game in the world.
“Clue, The Musical” follows the game’s six well-known “suspects” as they sing and dance their way through mayhem and murder in six rooms of the Boddy mansion. Co-directed by Joan Hageman and Betty Schwicker, this Springs Theatre Company production promises to be full of twists and turns. The extremely talented cast consists of Bob Nordmann as Mr. Boddy, Lizz Baldwin as Mrs. White, Candy Flaming as Miss Scarlett, D’Ann Artis as Mrs. Peacock, Larry Baisdon as Professor Plum, Matthew Brunson as Mr. Green, Michael DeWinter as Colonel Mustard, Stacy West as Lana Blight, and Heidi Tanner as the Detective. Adding their own brand of talent to the live musical combo are Venita Burch on keyboard and Dan Burch on drums.
Guest participation is encouraged as the suspect, room and weapon will change each night based on the Clue cards drawn by audience volunteers creating 216 potential endings. The audience also gets a chance to play along on a tally sheet and deduce who dunnit, in which room, and with what weapon.
