PAWSD finds no violations of Running Iron Ranch lease

Archuleta County accounts payable registries from March 2024 and December 2023 reveal that Weber Sand and Gravel sold the county a total of $4,650.50 in shot rock and road gravel, a potential violation of the Webers’ lease on Running Iron Ranch.

Archuleta County breaks ground on new transit facility

On the morning of April 15, Archuleta County commissioners Veronica Medina, Ronnie Maez and Warren Brown; County Manager Derek Woodman; County Transportation Coordinator Kevin Bruce; Mountain Express Transit (MET) Dispatcher Lavonne Rababah; County Public Works Director Mike Torres; Principal Architect Brad Ash of Reynolds Ash + Associates; and bid awardee Buildings by Design (BBD) Managing Member Travis Lefever lined up with shovels in hand to break ground on a project five years in the making, the Archuleta County Transit Facility.

Rita M. Werner
Rita M. Werner, 81, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., was called home by our Lord on Feb. 23, 2024, in Midland, Texas. The memorial service for Rita Werner will be held May 8, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 56 Meadows Drive, Pagosa Springs, Colo.
Carol Ann White
Carol Ann Neville White passed quietly into God’s nearer presence in her Pagosa Springs residence on April 8, 2024, at the age of 84 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Aug. 10, 1939.
Bobbie Joy Day Smith
Born in Hamlin, Texas, in 1935. She married her childhood sweetheart, Glenn, in 1952. She was the first in her family to receive Christ as her savior. Joy went on to convert her husband, Glenn, who then became a minister, and she then served as a minister’s wife for 48 years and helped Glenn to start several new churches in many states.
