The Caring for Colorado Foundation (CCF) awarded $3.1 million in grants this year to 63 organizations. A total of $265,823 in grants went to nonprofits in southwestern Colorado.
Axis Health System, serving Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties, received $50,000 for their “La Plata Integrated Health Care Clinic.”
According to the CCF press release from Feb. 28, the grant for Axis Health System will be used to, “launch a new primary care clinic to reduce access barriers to comprehensive care.”
The Archuleta Axis Health System location offers counseling, therapy and psychiatric services. They are located at 475 Lewis St.
Several other statewide organizations received funds as well. The grants have gone to programs striving to help improve healthcare systems and healthcare access for Coloradans.
