Lady Pirates pounce on Bobcats, lose close matches to Centauri and Alamosa

Lady Pirate Elsa Lindner protects Pagosa’s side of the net during a Sept. 26 matchup with the 2A Ignacio Bobcats. Lindner led the team in kills with nine and also tallied two blocks en route to a four-set victory for Pagosa.

In three games, the No. 46 Pagosa Springs High School Lady Pirate volleyball team picked up a win, but dropped two games to league opponents, pushing its overall record to 4-8, which includes a 1-3 record in league play.

As teammate River Pitcher keeps watch, Lady Pirate Samaya Dunn de Pulido looks to make a play against the Ignacio Bobcats on Sept. 26. Dunn de Pulido finished with a kill and three digs to help the Lady Pirates earn a 3-1 victory over the Bobcats. The Lady Pirates will look to pick up two road wins over the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. and against the Bayfield Wolverines on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
