Special to The PREVIEW
This year marks the sixth annual Pirate Plunge 5k Mud Run. It is set to take place Saturday, July 20; race start time is at 10 a.m. at Yamaguchi Park.
As always, this mud run does not disappoint. This course is designed to challenge all athletic abilities; with 20 obstacles in this 5k, you can push yourself to your limit or take it slow. The Pirate Plunge is not a timed race, so many of our runners like to team up and help each other through the course.
All ages are welcome to participate, but any runners under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are encouraged. Prizes will be handed out after the race for Best Costumes and Muddiest Runner.
The Pirate Plunge Mud Run is sponsored by the Pagosa Springs High School Athletic Booster Club. All proceeds from this event benefit all high school athletic sports.
To preregister, go to www.pirateplunge.com, or you can register the day of starting at 8 a.m. at Yamaguchi Park. So, it’s not too late to get your team together or run it alone; either way, I promise you will have a blast. See you at the Plunge.
