At the opening of Thingamajig Theatre Company’s family-friendly musical at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts, the cast of Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland JR” posed with longtime Pagosa Springs resident Benny Lohman and sang “Happy Birthday” in honor of her upcoming 100th birthday on July 26. Lohman is a lifetime member of the Pagosa Springs Women’s Golf Association, whose ladies will be hosting her at a birthday luncheon in celebration of this milestone. She also was a medal winner in several Senior Olympics and is active in the local Veterans for Veterans of Archuleta County, having been a Navy recruiter. Lohman is a role model for our community. “It’s fun to be 100,” she said with her signature smile. She has lived in Pagosa for 35 years, most of them with Sandy, her husband of 65 years who passed away in 2013.
