2019/02/obit-forrest-1-215x300.jpgOn Sunday, Feb. 3, Heaven gained a saint that earth lost. Dorothy Barnes Forrest (known to everyone as Gramma Dottie) left her family, friends and church here on earth to meet her Savior face to face. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson, who passed away in 1994, and a score of other loved ones.

Gramma Dottie has left a huge empty spot in the hearts of her family (oldest son, Truett, and wife Sherri; second-born son Bay and wife Peg; third son Jon and wife Kim; and daughter Dorothy, preceded in death, son-in-love, David, all of Pagosa Springs), 21 grand-treasures (including spouses); 30 great-grands; and two brothers (John and wife Pat; and Paul and wife Barbara Barnes, in Arizona).

This 87-year-godly woman left detailed, handwritten instructions not to grieve her loss, but celebrate her gain. Christmas 2018, she delighted in giving away the last of her earthly treasures in preparation for her departure! May 2018, she started memorizing Ps. 103 and was within the last two verses when she died, being faithful to the end! For her, to live was Christ and to die was gain!

The family has not decided on details for a memorial service, but will make the date and time known when that is set.
