Special to The PREVIEW

This Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Archuleta County Genealogical Society meeting, Pam Hayes will demonstrate how to download your raw DNA data from other sites and upload it to My Heritage.

Looking at your matches on different sites increases your pool of available matches. At this time, My Heritage allows you to download your data with a free account. However, as of Dec. 1, it will be necessary to purchase a membership to do this.

Hayes will walk us through the steps to take advantage of this window of opportunity. She will also explain My Heritage’s chromosome browser feature to aid in finding relatives.

This program will be an informal presentation and workshop, so bring your laptop to join in and follow the demonstration. It is recommended that you sign up for a free My Heritage account prior to attending.

At the beginning of the meeting, there will be a time to socialize, followed by a brief business meeting and the program.

Archuleta County Genealogical Society meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church on Lewis Street.

All visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend.
