Roland was born Oct. 11, 1972, in Durango, Colo. Roland lived most of his life is Pagosa Springs. Roland enjoyed time in the woods, regardless of whether he was cutting wood or camping. He loved operating heavy equipment, but in the last few years worked at Walmart.
Family and friends were everything to him. Roland was preceded in death by his mother, Alexandra Rivera-Martinez, and his brother, Celso Terry Davis. He is survived by his parents, Sevedeo and Mary Ann Martinez; his boys: Everett DeGraaf, of Pagosa Springs; Todd and Scott DeGraaf, of St. Helens, Ore.; sisters: Pamela Martinez, of Tucson, Ariz.; Veronica (Mauricio) Medina, of Pagosa Springs; Leonise (Preston) Harper, of San Antonio, Texas; brothers: Michael (Becky) Romero, of Reno, Nev.; Travis Romero, of Temple, Okla.; nieces Rebecca (Paul) Smith, of Marana, Ariz.; Taran Romero and Makayla Davis, of Reno, Nev.; Teya and Emily Harper, of San Antonio, Texas; nephews Angel Medina, Jesse Arevalo, Ryan Arevalo, Jonathon Medina and Albert Medina, of Reno, Nev., and Hunter Williams, of Pagosa Springs, Colo. Roland is also survived by the love of his life, Briana Ricci.
His funeral was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Tuesday, May 15.
