Five Pirate wrestlers place at state

A handful of Pagosa Springs High School Pirate wrestlers made the podium at last week’s state tournament at the Pepsi Center.

Leading the way for the Pirate grapplers was freshman Cameron Lucero, who finished second among 3A wrestlers at 132 pounds.

At 145 pounds, Tate Hinger finished third.

Trevor Bryant finished fourth in the 152-pound division.

At 106 pounds, Erick Wyman finished sixth, and at 113 pounds, Dylan Tressler finished sixth.
