San Juan Fellowship continuing informational sessions

By Zoë Groulx
Special to The PREVIEW

The San Juan Fellowship (SJF) held its first of three informational open houses this past Saturday. The second and third informational open houses will be held at the Ruby Sisson Library from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27.

People can sign up for the free adult learning programs offered by the SJF at these times.

The SJF envisions being “an enthusiastic presence in Pagosa that will nurture a caring and supportive community of people on diverse journeys practicing the principle of ‘love and compassion beyond beliefs.’”

The group’s mission is “to create and to model a reverential, non-religious community, one wherein individuals provide and receive compassion and loving support, friendship and camaraderie, based on universal truths that are the foundation of all major religions and spiritual philosophies. By its very nature such a community shall promote peace and kindness among all individuals and groups despite differing beliefs and loyalties, be those differences religious, political or cultural.”

For further information about the SJF, please email or call Zoë Groulx at 382-1158.
