Jose L. Candelaria was born to Regina and Manuel C. Candelaria on Dec. 11, 1936, in Rosa, N.M., and passed Aug. 14 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emelia Candelaria; brothers Faustin and Bernie; and a sister, Delfinia Lucero. He is survived by a brother, Manuel (Doreen); two sisters, Claudine Quintana and Angie Candelaria; friend Kathy Scott; sister-in-law Barbara; extended family Nick, JR and April Lopez Donovon and Luis; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
His last instructions to us were to be cremated and buried in Arboles and he did not want a formal service. As hard as that is, we will honor those wishes. He was an amazing man; we all love him very much. Needless to say, we will all miss him, but he will forever be in our hearts.
