Darren LewisThe Pagosa Springs Parks and Recreation Department is now under new leadership following the recent announcement that Darren Lewis has been hired to fill the position vacated by Tom Carosello.
“I’m very pleased to have Darren as our new Director of Parks & Recreation,” Town Manager Greg Schulte announced in an email to SUN staff yesterday morning. “He has demonstrated a sincere commitment to the community, cares very deeply about the kids and parents participating in our recreation programs and has a real passion for our parks system. I look forward to working with him to take the next step in providing facilities and programs for our community.”
In the spring of this year, just before the busy summer recreation season began, Carosello resigned as the parks and rec director to take a position in Estes Park. The search for a new parks and rec director began immediately.
