Outdoor-themed activities for kids, adults Tuesday

We have two special events coming up next Tuesday, July 7.

Kids entering the second through fifth grades are invited to join Ranger Brandon as he reads nature-themed books and provides interactive activities, crafts and a whole lot of fun. These free programs are on the first Tuesday of the month — July 7 and Aug. 4 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, five highly experienced hikers will share their knowledge in a panel discussion at noon. Our presenters will be Nean “Letitbe” Bacile, Gregory “Grizzly” Boone, Stacy “Simply Seeking” Boone, Mike “Hawkeye” Johnson and David “White Root” Patterson. All are Triple Crowners, meaning they have hiked the entire Appalachian, Pacific Crest and Continental Divide trails. Whether you are an endurance hiker or a novice, this program is sure to be both entertaining and informative. No registration required.

Library closures

We will be closed both Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, for the federal holiday.

Summer Reading Program

This year’s free Summer Reading Program is underway, running until July 31 — and it is not too late for you to sign up. Register at your library or online at our website, pagosa.colibraries.org/. Summer reading activities are open to everyone from babies to adults.
