Groot for teens and a resume-writing workshop among many programs next week

Teens in the seventh through 12th grades are invited to create their own Groot characters out of paper on Wednesday, June 24, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. As all teens know, Groot is the character from the comic/movie “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a new job, please join us on Monday, June 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a resume-writing workshop that will help you write a resume that gets results. You will learn the essential techniques and leave with a solid understanding of how to write — and improve — your resume.

The session will be led by our own Meg Wempe. She has taught similar workforce development classes at other libraries, particularly when she worked in the reference department at the Job Center of Richland County Public Library. She’ll include changes in the past few years and integrate the Denver Public Library’s curriculum for their resume class. Advance registration is required to attend this session.
