School district Unified Improvement Plan released

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) recently released Archuleta School District’s (ASD) Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) for the 2014-2015 school year.

In summary, it is a snapshot of how ASD’s schools are performing in reading, math and writing.

In an interview last week, Assistant Superintendent David Hamilton explained the UIP is one component of ongoing assessments and not strict goals for this specific school year.

“The primary purpose of improvement planning,” per the CDE website, “is to align efforts to: Ensure all students exit the K-12 education system ready for postsecondary education, and/or to be successful in the workforce, earning a living wage immediately upon graduation.”
