Southwest Enterprise Zone boundaries are changing, effective Jan. 1, 2016, and will affect many businesses and Enterprise Zone Contribution Projects in La Plata and Archuleta counties.
The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, as the Southwest Enterprise Zone Administrator, is hosting three information meetings for area tax preparers and affected businesses. The presentation will cover options for businesses that utilize tax credits and are going out of the zone; detailed maps and information on the new boundaries; a tax credit overview; regional statistics on the credits; and reviewing the online pre-certification and certification system. Updated boundary maps, handouts and system user guides will also be available.
