Saturday, May 2, is Wildfire Community Preparedness day, when communities across the nation will be conducting projects and holding events to raise awareness of the need to prepare for possible wildfires.
Archuleta County will be among those communities, with wildfire listed as the greatest natural threat in our area and several large fires plaguing the area in recent years.
