Free family Earth Day event tomorrow

Family Friday tomorrow, April 24, is a special event because Pagosa Ranger Brandon Caley will join us in honor of Earth Week from 2 to 3:30 p.m., timed so that children can come after school.

Ranger Brandon will lead a program consisting of reading “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss, planting small seeds in Lorax-decorated plant pots and planting a tree at the library. No advance registration is required to attend.

“The Lorax” is a children’s book that features a boy living in a polluted town who starts asking questions to find out what went wrong to make this happen. It chronicles the plight of the environment, personified by the Lorax, who speaks for the trees against the greedy Once-ler.
