Special to The PREVIEW

It took a village of volunteers to prepare for the 2015 Pagosa 9Health Fair, but everything is ready to go for the March 28 9Health Fair at Pagosa Springs High School, set to run from 7 to 11 a.m.

Anyone 18 years of age or older is welcome to attend and take advantage of the low-cost blood screenings, which include blood chemistry ($35), blood count ($20), hemoglobin A1C ($30), vitamin D ($45) and PSA for men only ($30). A take-home colon cancer screening kit is also available for $25. Vouchers for the $35 blood chemistry screening are available and all you have to do is call Caroline Brown at 731-4248 to see if you qualify.

For the past 35 years, 9Health Fairs have provided people in Colorado from all walks of life with low-cost and free health screenings, as well as education to help them better monitor their own health. While many Coloradans are experiencing changes in their health care policies, 9Health Fair is proud to offer the same low-cost screenings and high-quality health information that participants are used to seeing year after year.

Fasting prior to the blood draw is optional, but everyone is encouraged to drink plenty of water. Credit cards are not accepted the day of the fair, but you can use a credit card for online registration at www.9healthfair.org/findafair. Online registration must be completed by noon the day before your blood draw.

Coffee and breakfast burritos will be offered as a fundraiser by the hard working students of the Pagosa Springs High School SKILLS club.

Other 9Health Fairs in southwest Colorado include Dove Creek on April 4, Mancos on April 11, Cortez on April 18, Ignacio on April 25, Silverton on April 25 and Bayfield May 2.
