Pilot attributes accomplishments to military training

There is an old joke: How do you make God laugh? Tell Him/Her your plans. Life has so many twists and turns as we go along, you never know where it will lead you.

I don’t think Chris Blas had the dream or goal to make aviation a career as a young man. Little did he know that the opportunities that came along during his life’s path would lead him to becoming a professional pilot and aircraft mechanic.

In high school, Blas was mechanically inclined and worked on cars and in construction. After graduation, he enrolled in the St. Louis Travel Academy to work for TWA as a ramp manager and moonlighted as an apprentice for aircraft maintenance.
